I hope that British Naturism can get this passed. If they can do that, it'd be a good example to cite in bringing the same protections/acceptance here to the U.S.

I think this has been accomplished as it is no longer illegal to be naked in public in the UK - as long as there is absolutely no intention to cause alarm or distress. That does not mean it is socially accepted by the wider public. Like many UK nudists I practice my nudism with consideration of those around me. For example, when on a naked hike, I will cover up when meeting other hikers.
