About Hanlan's Point Beach
Hanlan's Point Beach, located in Toronto, Ontario, is a renowned destination for nudists and naturists seeking a serene escape. This clothing-optional beach is one of the few legally recognized nude beaches in Canada, making it a significant spot for those in the naturist community. Historically, Hanlan's Point holds a special place in Toronto's cultural landscape. Originally used by the Mississauga people, the area was later named after the Hanlan family, who settled there in the 1800s. By the 20th century, it had become a popular amusement area, before transitioning to a more tranquil…

If You Like Textiles and Gawkers...
2.00As the closest clothing-optional beach in Canada's largest metropolitan city, you expect the place to be busy, and it often is, especially on weekends. When it is busy, you will find yourself in close proximity to other beach-goers. The clothing-optional designation means that many people decide not to go nude, which is their right, given the C-O status. Whether they are gawkers or just uncomfortable with nudity is hard to gauge. There are the occasional "militant nudists" who will carp at the textiles to take it all off, but those twits need to buzz off, because it is a C-O beach. As others h…
Pros: Convenient access via Toronto Ferry Terminal. Snack bars and washrooms are nearby.
Cons: Overcrowded and noisy.

my second home in summer
4.00I live in Toronto and have been going to Hanlan's since 2010, and I'm not exaggerating if I call it my second home in summer. It's easily the nicest beach on the Islands, and the fact that it is a bit harder to get to (bicycles are the recommended means of transportation) probably encourages a different crowd to go there. There are kids there, but no hoards of screaming kids. All in all, I have always enjoyed the healthy mix in the crowd here--backpackers, nudists, hippies ..... As others have pointed out the beach has suffered badly from erosion due to serious flooding in 2017 and (even more…
Pros: Easy to get to from the city of Toronto by ferry. Fairly clean, sandy beach. Good water quality. Just a great getaway from the city, and a naked one ......
Cons: Too many boom boxes on the beach. Even more annoyingly, many boats anchoring off the beach throwing their parties, blasting the beach with noice from their entertainment system--this should be banned!

First timer str8 Male, sexually harassed/physically harassed in the same day by
1.00First I think a review of the park before I get to my complaints. I am a first timer (never gone to a nude beach before) and I have anxiety, confidence issues and difficulty with many people in crowds so it was a real challenge for me. Anyways I stayed in the optional area, because I eventually wanted to drop everything and give it a try. I walked back and forth just being comfortable around the nice people swimming and playing games, some nude, some not. So I walked to the far south/east end to find a quiet spot to chill by myself away from anyone I may disturb and medicate (heavily lol) and…
Pros: - Good people having a good time (some of them) - Easy for newbs to get comfortable - Pretty clean, water is nice! - Checked that one off my list... Maybe do it again.
Cons: - Some Gay people think that every st male at a nude beach is Gay and likes to be sexually assaulted w/o asking - Some Gay people think that every str8 male at nude beach wants to be feeled and touched - Both didn't listen after asking to stop

Would definitely recommend
4.00The best thing about Hanlan's is the atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly and approachable, and there's very rarely anyone skeevy. The water's very clean, and the beach is sizable. It can become a little too partyish for some people's tastes, but it's never stopped me from relaxing there. I'd say it's definitely worth checking out, although it's flooded for the start of the 2017 season.
Pros: Good people, clean water
Cons: Only accessible by ferry

Best Spot in Toronto - Period
5.00I live and work in Toronto and I can honestly say, without hesitation, this is my favourite place in the city! There`s many reasons why that`s the case. First, the regulars (which seem to live there the entire summer!) are an incredibly devoted, colourful, and at times unusual cast of characters that make this beach very entertaining to observe and interact with. Secondly, the process of getting to the beach forces you to disconnect from the urban world - you can physically see the disconnect happen while on the ferry, heading from a shoreline of skyscrapers and condos, towards a shoreline of…
Pros: Proximity to downtown, nature everywhere, beach is Blue Flag (environmentally sound, good water quality), best of times almost guaranteed
Cons: Weekends are extremely busy and not the usual group of regulars

Disappointing
2.00Don`t want to be too harsh on this place as it is great to have a nude beach so close to the city and the island itself is beautiful and worth a visit but this beach itself is clothing optional - I`ve been a few times but on the last visit 80% of the people were clothed !!!! Right down to the end of the clothing optional part - now I understand people are curious about naked people etc and the usual gawkers are common but don`t go to this beach and expect to be surrounded by naked bodies !! The clothed far outweighed the naked sadly ! I guess everyday is different but I think more of a line ne…
Pros: Beautiful setting friendly people close to city
Cons: Too many opted for clothing !!!!!
