Directions
Drive to the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. When you get on the island turn right to Leysdown, which is 7 miles. Drive through the centre of Leysdown (it's very small) and carry on towards the sea. The road then bears right and follows the sea, then past a cafe and tolites on the left (the last food/toilets you'll see, but not always open) and comes inland slightly, before taking a sharp left again…

What a windy day
4.00This is a lovely area, but can be plagued by gawkers. This is our 2nd visit and we found it less intimidating that last time, in terms of being ogled buy guys looking for a cheap thrill. For those who were there to enjoy the sun, there were zero problems. We felt somewhat guilty at not being more inviting and friendly to the nice man who kindly found us a nice big rock to get our windbreak put up after forgetting a mallet! If you see us again, please feel free to come and say hi. More than welcome to join us for some rays.
Pros: Legal, sand dunes
Cons: textiles, gawkers, wind
