They are no longer open to yearly members and must live there or rent a RV and place. Loved it when you could join on a yearly basis.

  • Sunny Sands has gone downhill

    1.00

The new owners and manager have stopped almost everything that made Sunny Sands a great place to live and visit. No more day visitors, no more campers unless they pay for a month stay, no bar, no restaurant, no hot tub. Most of the fun residents have moved out. No reason to visit.

    Pros: None

    Cons: Listed above.

  • Nasty

    1.00

Went there 2 years ago by myself, pitched a tent. Met couples there. and every time the woman attempted to talk tto me, their husbands pulled them away or said somehing nasty. Met a friendy women there by herself. Returned 6 months later, this time with my female neighbor, a very healthy, fit, beautiful woman. The same guys who ignored me first time there, were falling over backwards, trying to talk with my guest, even offering us to come back to their homes. In other words, I was now able to converse with their out of shape wives, so these guys could try to swing with my friend. Hypocrites al…

Pros: One healthy woman with a personality. Some single men were cordial.

Cons: Bugs, horny old hippies, out of shape women, more bugs, absolutely nothing worth the cost, and nothing to bring me back there.

  • No Day Visitors

    4.00

I went to Sunny Sands a few years ago for a day visit. The resort website says it is now residential only, no day visitors. It wasn't clear to me if overnight camping was still an option. I wasn't really planning another visit anytime soon so I did not contact the resort to get the details.

  • Been here a number of times

    5.00

I have enjoyed Sunny Sands every time I have visited. I met with the new owners when there this last time and liked them very much. The on site restaurant and bar is great because you are able to stay nude to get a drink and a meal, no need to pit clothes on and go off site. There is a nice little restaurant in Pierson should you want something different. Plan to keep going back as long as they allow me to come down. :)

    Pros: Restaurant and bar.

Cons: My lady friend does not go with me any more.

I went to Sunny Sands for the first time in Sept. 2014. My soul longed for peace, connection, community, care... the people, pristine beauty, quiet, fun... BEYOND my greatest expectations. Mike and Marge, the management were far above welcoming and hospitable... I truly hope to make Sunny Sands my permanent home someday. Thank you all whom have made my times with you so wonderful! Went back at Thanksgiving... truly can not get enough!!!

Pros: Welcoming, Wonderful, People, location, community, pool, hot tub, bar/restaurant, nature, stars, sun... community, church, beauty...heart and soul... LOVE!

We got married here in 9/9/2001..a lovely little place, just the sort of place to get your feet wet the first time. Quiet, low traffic, if you are a newbie...this just might be the place for you to start being a nudists. Has the usual facilities, with the bonus of only being 20 miles from Ormond Beach/Daytona area..it will always have a place in our heart.....

Pros: small place...good place to adjust to social nudity

Cons: lately, hints that management lately could be improved
