Point taken after my first time at Haulover Nude beach, i guess i did tend to dress less and woudl find clothes that coudl breath more
I have only been to Haulover twice and it was after I had been to Gunnison many times.
The one thing that surprises me is that while a few men wear revealing clothing between the beach and parking lot. most wear standard shorts and a shirt.
Why were more then the minimum if you are going to be nude in a few minutes?

Normal people who are nudists wear normal clothes like shirts and shorts and act normally. They promote nudism.
Weird people act weird and wear weird shit. They discourage others from trying nudism because they make it look weird.

I do agree with you that the people who wear extremely revealing clothing could turn people off on the concept of nudism.
However, I don't see why wearing shorts or a more traditional swimsuit without a shirt when walking from a parking lot to a beach should create a negative impression.

If you were less weird and more normal, you would not be so obsessed with what you wear while going to a nude beach and just enjoy being naked when you get there. The very few seconds you might save by not wearing shorts and a shirt does not matter at all, to normal people.
Just admit you are kinky about minimalist clothing and stop obsessing on why normal people dont do this or that.

I don't wear underwear anymore, but other than that, I tend to dress like I always did.
I guess I do go without a shirt more often than I used to. Before I went to any nudist beaches/resorts, I tended to wear a shirt when I went to the beach or went swimming (I'm overweight). Now, I don't see the point (with the exception of wearing a long-sleave sun blocker shirt when I don't it's high sun and I don't feel like re-applying sunscreen.
