I llok at others cars out of curiosity and have yet to see anyone looking at me. A bus might be the only vehicle where passengers would be looking out at other cars, but most have smoked windows so can't tell. I just drive-on regardless. I am in my private property and not doing things like fondling myself as I drive. That would be a clear act of indecency.
Your position is state law in Florida. People can legally drive or ride in their car nude, even a convertible with the top down as long as they are not intentionally drawing attention or performing a lewd act.
I've driven nude many many times from the northern states down to SC in the nude. I even leave one of my toys on the passenger seat when I drove thru the toll booths. As for rest areas, I always did ny driving at night to miss traffic and cops. But during the night at a rest area, it was some sortmof see thru beach cover ups and barefoot to run to the bathroom. Half way to the car, Id take the cover up off and walk naked the rest of the way.
Same thing with getting gas, only an oversized shirt and barefoot. If I wasn't going in the gas station, it was a VERY transparent cover up at the pump, or just a thong, which was mesh anyway.
I did 550 miles in california wednesday before thanksgiving with my non nudist wife. Started at 4 am. Did 3 bathroom/snack stops on the way requiring shorts, shirt, and shoes. Dumped them when we left. Arrived about145 in the afternoon. One of my best rides with the wife.
There were no problems including passing or being passed by law enforcement. Just drive like everyone else.
I have a pretty long trip coming up also. If I am still able to make the drive I am going to shoot to do it nude. I will let yall know and. I will try and take pics and videos. I will be looking to make a couple stops to break up the trip.

I had a five hour road trip today, stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for the first 90 minutes. So was a very slow start, often stopping or moving very slowly but not sure if anyone got a glimpse lol. Pulled on a pair of shorts when I stopped for food and at a rest area. The shorts were off again as soon as I was back in the car. Just another example of an everyday event made more enjoyable without uncomfortable clothes!

If you are talking about your trip to VA this winter, it might be too chilly in the northern part near your destination.
For the ride home, you could start out clothed and remove items until you are nude.
You could also start nude for the trip there and add clothing as necessary, but that would not be as much fun.

The electronic climate control in modern cars has eliminated this problem once the engine is warm. This has certainly been true for all the cars and vans I have owned for the last 40 years.
