Ive hiked at HH a few times. There is a trailhead at the far end of the parking lot that takes you along the top of the bluff to the far eastern end of the park. Id say about half a mile. You can then hike back on the paved trail along the lake shore. So, total loop is about a mile. Do three loops for your 5k practice. Getting in the water to cool off.
Must have for the park. Water shoes. The clams and rocks are sharp in the water.
The upper trail is a rustic but VERY good path. Takes just few minus. It is really used to get to the far end. Not more than 1/2-1 mile max. . then go to the end.. come back on Paved path.. then loop back along the Water edge. -- repeat. I get in 6-8 miles that way. Easy walking.
