What is the Season Pass price for 2026-2027
When the original proposal to raise the price to $600 came out, I did an detailed analysis of their reasoning and justifications. Almost all of it was garbage. I don't know who they had doing it, but there is NO RV RESORT that charges $75/night for a boondocking site. And that was just the most obvious falsehood that was stated. I also pointed out the original reason for the LTVA's was to put people in places that wouldn't cause a lot of environmental damage. Providing garbage service, water, and a dump station also protects the environment from getting trashed by excessive use. Raising the price would push people back out into the desert and just create more headaches for BLM.
I also noticed that they were "assigning" the entire cost of their Ranger staff to the LTVA's. This is really dumb as the Rangers patrol the entire BLM region, not just just the LTVA's. It is unfair to expect the users of these areas to foot the entire cost of Ranger operations. I have rarely seen them in the LTVA's, except for just a quick drive-thru now and then or in response to the rare law enforcement issue.
I'm hoping that they read my response and realized that a big price jump would result in an environmental disaster for them.
