if you want truly free, no worries about textiles, I can vouch for the hiking trails at Lupin Lodge or Glen Eden. While maybe not as adventurous, it is nice to be able to drop everything but your water bottle and just hike without the worry of coming across a family of clothed hikers. The Glen Eden trails are more expansive, but the climate is hotter and drier.
I have done a few hikes. I use the "all trails" app. I check how busy the trail is on it. Resulting in good quiet hikes.
Have i been seen? Yes, by a few. Any problems? No. I even had a few tell me they saw no others behind them.
Caught is from doing something wrong. Seen is understanding people enjoy life in different ways.
Always say hello in some form and comment on the hike or day. Let others know you are just out for a nice hike
