I just joined yesterday and took a nude selfie of myself in order to become certified. This is the first nude picture of me that has ever been taken. I am nervous about posting nude pictures of myself because I am extremely overweight. I am not here to be a voyeur I really want to enjoy the freedom of the nude lifestyle. My certification is pending and I joined as a lifetime member so I am commited to getting over my self-conciousness about my body.
Although I am married my wife is definitely against the nude lifestyle and does not approve of me even talking about it. Unfortunately this limits the number of people on this site that I can connect with because most people request that single males not send friend requests.
Hopefully, you will find that social nudity has no weight limits. This will be your hurdle to cross. Others have had their own hurdles to cross before stepping out for all to see. You may find a picture is your first step before running down hill.
A picture is not required to be a member on TN. A picture also does not need to be your first step to social nudity. On TN, a picture helps some have the confidence that you are genuine. It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. That saying is so true here. A picture helps to fill your profile. With out a picture your profile alone is your olive branch to show you are friendly.
As a fellow single male, I have also run into the No single male friend requests statements. I have found plenty of interaction on the forums and in groups. Some of the groups are more private than others and are controlled by the moderators. Here again, your profile helps. How interactive you are on the forums and groups helps also. It is a way for other members to get to know you.
The no single male statement is found where there are females involved. It gives them a layer of protection which I fully respect. I look at the groups on TN like social circles at the beach or resorts. Friends are like being invited into their house. When there are females involved much respect is needed and deserved. This will take a little time but, all good friendships do.
Welcome toTN and enjoy the freedom of being a nudist. With a spouse that is not participating remember moderation is key. I wish you luck as you take your first steps.

Unlike the general textile population, I admire the courage required by a person to show themselves nude to others. It may take more courage for those who have esteem issues with their body! I also believe some people who embrace nudism use it as a means to begin living a healthier lifestyle through better eating habits and increasing fitness activities.
Another good point we are giving away our privacy in so many ways the whole idea of only people who are shamed wear clothes or hide face is misguided and doesnt take into consideration that each persons situation is different. A couple friend of mine live full time at naturist community but dont show their face on social media because of privacy concerns. Doesnt make them not proud naturist
I understand privacy concerns I do there are a lot of creepers claiming to be nudists that are just pervs and putting on a show I hope we can all be adults about being nude and proud and free weather you don't show your face it takes a lot for someone to post nude pictures and the fakes ruin it for the true
