I find tan-through swim shorts bought two or three sizes too big work best. My wife, who is adamant that I should not do the front garden naked finds them OK for all types of public occasions, including travelling by bus.

I have considered tan through shorts for gardening but have not tried it due to:
No pockets
High cost
Delicate material.
Are any of these an issue for you?
If so, how do you deal with it?

@minimalist - I haven't had any problems with fragility and the lack of pockets has not bothered me so far, probably because most of my gardening is done naked anyway, so I have adapted my techniques to suit.

I did wear tan through shorts on a textile cruise just a week before a nude holiday. They are equivalent to factor 50 sunblock, which I had to spray on all the other parts of me - to avoid tan lines.

Probably not what you're looking for, but what I sometimes wear in the front garden is a utility kilt. I say not what you're looking for because they're quite think material being made from the same stuff as combat trousers.

If you're feeling a bit braver, you could also try getting a ladies mini kilt. They about the same length as a pair of shorts, but obviously don't have the crotch bit. I've not been allowed to wear mine in the front garden yet, but maybe your restrictions are less than mine :)

To look like a dress, when you are almost naked, you cut an old boxer from the bottom and we already have a cool and removable skirt

I love wearing loose fitting jeans when mowing and yRd work in front yard. My jeans just seem to keep sliding down lol.i have some front yard picture but dont know how to attach here....stay safe stay nude

I prefer a boiler suit for the front lawn as I don't like a waist constraint although I have trimmed the edges naked.
