New here... got questions
Hey everyone... Im new here... Im kinda just testing the waters. By no means am I a nudist yet
I do have questions;
So what constitutes someone as a nudist? Is nudism at home considered being a nudist?
Do we all believe a time and place for everything?
Why choose this lifestyle?
What led you to this lifestyle?

Sure. In my opinion (which may not be everybody's opinion). there's nudism, and then there's "social nudism."

In most respects, yes. CodeBare summed it up well. I can only add "When in Rome..."
Why choose this lifestyle?
Because I can choose it. I would rather be naked than clothed, unless there is some need to wear clothes, either due to social convention or comfort. It's my personal choice.
What led you to this lifestyle?
Being born. I'm told I was naked when I came down the chute, although I'll have to take other people's word on that.
But if you're talking about social nudism, it was exposure to the FKK scene in Europe when I was much younger, and later socializing with my friends in hot tubs and pools. It made sense for all of us to be naked there, and to appreciate each other for who they were, and not what they wore.
As you explore the site, you'll get lots of answers to your questions. But if you have one that hasn't been addressed, feel free to post it. (I call your attention in particular to the forum called "The Ladies' Room" which deals with some of the issues that women face but men don't.)
These are great questions
Yes, there is definitely a time and place. Being arrested for indecent exposure is probably not anyones goal. Also, in my experience, if me being naked is making someone uncomfortable, then I cover up. I am a boater and a lot of boater like to boat nude. Some (most) of my boater friends are absolutely fine with nudity and many join in. BUTsometimes there are a few that are not comfortable with it, so we cover up.
Next, Why? Why not? I have been a nudist for 30 years. First at home then I ventured out and discovered that there are a lot more nudist in the world than I ever thought possible. I just like being nude. When I got my first place away from the parents, I enjoyed nudity. Work all day, go home, take a shower and not put on clothes until the next morning when you have to go to work. A lazy weekend at home, why wear clothes at all? Cleaning the house, of course you should do it naked. Painting, never wear clothes painting. Cooking, sure, naked is better.
Im not sure what led me to be a nudist. I just prefer being naked. When I discovered other nudists and became great friends with many people that are nudists, it was easy to see that naked was a great life.
To the question "don't you ever get tired of seeing your wife naked?" I would counter "Do you get tired of seeing your wife's face?" In my view, when you are in love with someone, you love seeing them -- and the more of them you can see, the better :)
I have to say Andy I do agree with you. No way have I achieved seeing my wife naked enough and confess to wearing her out about it. Her big blue eyes rolling when I say have seen you enough in clothes today. She gets busy at times and forgets or is just chilled being here in the polar north. Good gosh it's not all that easy being a nudist here.

You ain't kiddin'! I used to live in the "deep South" where it was easy being naked almost year-round. When I hear about people still going nude outdoors in our neck of the woods this time of the year, I'm like: "Are you kidding me!! It's like 20 degrees right now!!" LOL!!One of the questions I'm asked by nudist men and women alike; "don't you ever get tired of seeing your wife naked?" "Hell No!"
I think most of us nudist (and non-nudist) hubbies feel the same way. Whenever my wife asks what she should wear around the house, my answer is always "Nothing!" But I get that right now it's just too darn cold for her to walk around naked all the time. Boo...
But what led me to this life style was a preference for nudity from a young age. I do believe there is a time and place for everything. I can't tell anyone how to be a nudist; but I personally lean heavily towards social nudism at resorts. I think you have to try different "versions" of nudism and find which one best fits your personal proclivities.
True nudism is about self. If you like to be naked while doing daily activities or sleeping or anything apart from sexual pleasures, you might be a nudist.
Whether one stays nude outside or not, that very well depends on outside circumstances. Whether you are comfortable with other nudist being around you or not, that will depend on practice.
The point is, Nudist feel that clothes are just to protect the body from cold or harsh sun or rain at times, and nothing more than that. Nudist will not wear clothes just because we are taught to cover our body and especially genitals or breasts.
Now, good nudist will never be judgemental about any kind of body, any skin color, any breast or penis sizes are fine. They see you beyond your body even when naked.
With that said, this doesn't mean, there will be no sexual thing, but the difference is, non-nudist will shred clothes to have sex, where as nudist will not wear clothes at all while seating or gardening or reading or doing anything..unless there is a real need for it. So, yeah, they live a life, they may have sexual preference as well, straight or lgbt, can be nudist or non nudist! Just like any community there can be good and bad, racist and non racist, classy or perv, all kind of nudist. But in general, nudists are supposed to be open and non judgmental!
