Wish the US was more open about nudity.
It's the same in Australia, our governments state and federal, along with our various tourist authorities like to portray us as being an open and tolerant society.
I can assure you that nothing could be further from the truth in many ways, especially when it comes to legitimate Naturism/Nudism lifestyles. Two thirds of this country has weather suitable for our kind of lifestyle all year round, so during the Northern hemisphere winter Australia could reap in billions of $'s in tourism if people could only get past the "Victorian era" mentality about nudity.
Yes we have designated beaches and private clubs run by volunteers but that's it, even in your own garden you are obliged by law to shield your neighbours view of your property, so my friend the U.S. is not the only prudish country that borders the Pacific.
I think thats the wish of all nudists in the us! Unfortunately, its not true, I live in a state, if you get caught nude in public . You will be arrested and put on the sex offender registry.! Crazy punishment for just being a nudist!
I'm always nude at home but wish nudity was allowed outdoors, even if it was only while on our own property.
Some states allow someone to be nude on their own property even if they are clearly in view of others.
There was a case a few years ago in Florida where someone was doing most of his front yard work nude.
The neighbors complained but were told that it was legal for him to do so.
I fully agree. I have to all but hide on the backside of my 12 acre plot. In the summer time it was no big deal, until the property next door got sold and the owner decided to cut away all the trees and bushes that lined the property line. So, being a bit cheeky, I placed a metal sign facing my property saying that the area was clothing optional.
I agree, but it all stems right back to the Pilgrim Fathers on the Mayflower.
Contrary to popular myth they were not subject to persecution in Britain, but actually migrated in order to be able to impose their bigotry on everybody.
The sexualisation of the human body and consequent suppression of nudity is one of the consequences.
