It's nice to be in a group of people who do not view every erection as a sexual event. Many nudists are mature enough to just see an erection as an erection, and nothing more. Boners are a natural, normal, and healthful part of male anatomy and physiology. Even if a boner is sexually induced, it just means the man's body is healthy and is functioning normally. It's no reason for anyone to become upset.

Erections are a circulation event, a body core smile and a poking up fun at the idea that we are always in control - and should want to be in control - of our bodies, emotions and selves. They are a celebration of life at any age. If it weren't so, there wouldn't be a long history of phalluses erected through the ages. Obviously as man traveled to cooler weather or the weather changed clothing became essential - however does anyone know of evidence or scientific thought that men started covering theirselves because of their penises and erections ?
An interesting anthropological question! There is a book about persistence hunting that I'd like to read to get insight on this, which I believe was done naked. Persistence hunting is how large animals are hunted without weapons, which I believe was done for tens or hundreds of thousands aof years. It takes place during the hottest time of the day and involves chasing an animal until it is run to exhaustion. A critical factor is the fact that humans can keep their bodies cool by sweating while running. Another critical factor is the ability to track down an animal. I've heard about men in non-Western societies or tribes covering their penises with gourds, which I guess could either be hiding or celebrating an erection or both.
Erections are beautiful and natural and should not be judged. In my opinion those who would shame others for a natural body function of a healthy man are the ones making men uncomfortable in situations like a nude beach, a locker room, etc. Let's admire penises soft and erect. They are all beautiful.
Well I have a premise that people as we know them have not changed. Thus there have always been guys with small penises, ones with large OMG dicks, those east to rise and those just making a big statement. As well as there have been men and women who appreciate what they see as well as those appalled by what they see. (Yes there have always been puritans!) so at some point of our primitive lives some body said cover that up! And we all have to live with that lol
