Backyard oasis
Hi all,
Im living in suburbia in Brisbane. As is typical here with modern housing estates the developers tend to build as many houses as possible in the smallest space allowable. Therefore my yard is small and the neighbours are close.
But I have a 1.8m timber paling fence surrounding my backyard.
It wasnt terribly private with gaps developing between the palings as the timber dried and shrunk, plus the back neighbour is a little elevated being able to see not into my yard but through the windows into the house. Naked time on the patio wasnt possible, and I had to keep some blinds closed as well.
So I stapled black builders plastic onto the 3 fences surrounding the back of the property and fixed a second layer of palings. Then I fitted 500mm fence extensions from Bunnings. Now no one can see over unless theyre on a step ladder and deliberately trying to look.
Next step was the installation of a spa pool. The pool fence enclosure area is landscaped with pavers and white pebbles, and the fence extensions have plastic faux hedging attached. Along with a pergola, a new lawn, Jasmine vine, and new shrubs I am very happy with the result.
The yard is now 100% private, is green with lawn and plants, I can enjoy my naked time in the spa pool, or gardening, reading a book, on the patio cooking on the BBQ enjoying a wine or beer, eating meals outside. Loving the results of my labour, loving being naked.
