That group banner photo

I just joined the Group a minute ago. Believe it or not, I joined MAINLY to ask how many people know the story behind that banner photo. I think most of the photos that went into it were taken roughly 50 years ago. (I could be wrong about that.)

Is that because they are not shaven in the pubes department? I much prefer the natural look myself.

Well, that, too, but not necessarily. Those photos came from a large collection that were probably inspired by the Ivy League Nude Photo Scandal (you can look that up on Wikipedia). I think these particular ones are by a photographer named Akira Gomi. He was doing them as early as the mid 1970s. There are photos, clearly in this series, that show dates from that time. This series followed a particular pattern: There would be one full-front, head-to-foot dressed; then there would follow full nudes: full-front head-to-toe, one side head to toe, full back head-to-toe, other side head-to-toe, then front head-to-mid-thigh, and back head-to-mid-thigh.

If this was from the Ivy League Nude Photo scandal I understand that Hillary Rodham was a participant.

Looking at the hairstyles, I would guess these are later 90s photos - they're not 80s or before. The hair isn't "big" enough for the fashion of that day. I used to have maybe 100 of these pictures, but never quite sure of their origin
