Dad purchase Jock Strap for Me
We were told we need a jockstrap in 6th grade, when the new school was built and we would be having gym classes. Showers were taken, as well. It was a coming of age moment, when Dad took me to the store to purchase one. Just he and I and it was our time to discuss why needed. Coming of age, for sure.
Exactly the same story here. Even though Dad was great, still felt a bit uncomfortable for a while with the new jock and open shower. Also, coach was the only teacher to call us by last name, so that was new too. Still remember most of the guys in class after many years.
