Gunnison today
With my Skinzwear A14 mesh shorts there's more coverage than for a swim brief but they are looser. For the mesh or tan-through fabrics in a brief I don't think I really 'feel' the openness unless I'm in the water. Out of the water it's probably the elastic edges that are most felt when comparing a brief to a loose pair of shorts.

Do you wear the a14 alone? If so, have you ever experienced issues with things sticking out at inappropriate moments?
It does look like an alternative to a swim brief or cotton shorts for the drive and walk to Gunnison.
I feel noticeably less confined in a tan through swim brief than a standard one no matter where I am wearing it.
When driving my convertible with the top down, the breeze goes right through the fabric.
I do feel the elastic on the waist and at the top of the legs.
After I got the privacy fence around the pool so I rarely wore a swim brief in it and stopped wearing under shortly thereafter, I found a regular swim brief to be so confining I couldn't tolerate wearing one.
Once at Gunnison I parked next to someone who was wearing a very tiny loincloth for the walk to the beach.
I asked him if he got it or made it and he said that he made if from part of an old tshirt.
Took an old tshirt, cut off the sleeves, opened the seam, ran a shoestring through the seams and made a loincloth.
Then he cut the bottom third off the shirt, quartered it and made 2 more.
There was still enough of the shirt left to use as a cropped sleeveless shirt.
4 garments (of sorts) from 1.
I too have a pair of their mesh short that I wear around in the backyard. They are truly next to nothing as far as the feeling.
Most of my back yard is inside a privacy fence so I don't have to wear anything,
I live on a busy road across from a school so I would not be comfortable wearing something that minimal in the front yard.
