i store my kayak - a tamarack angler in the garage it's only 10 feet but my poor pelican canoe is just shy 16 foot is outside flipped upside down, i do plan to get a carport and will make a rack to store both underneath out of the brunt of weather.

I made a double rack out of some scrap lumber I had laying around mounted to the cellar wall. Wife and I both have 14' Mad River Solo canoes.

Mine's in the backyard as I hope for an opportunity to take it for a paddle one morning. Usually it's stored in my garage standing on its end with the nose wedged between the open rafters. It's a blow-mould sit-on-top model and that seems okay. They're certainly not the easiest thing to store!

No they are not unless it aluminum. Our Mad Rivers are made of Royalex (sp?) and can't be subjected to below freezing temps which we see alot of here in ne PA

I have two 10 foot kayaks and I store them in my garage. I bought a two kayak rack on Amazon for less than $100. It works great.

I have a plastic kayak which I have owned for decades now. I just had to downsize and let go of my home which had a big garden, a garage etc. I used to keep the kayak upside down on the flat roof of the garage. I built a large shed/workshop at my daughter's place and I plan to fit some wooden struts and hang the boat upside down there.

I store mine in my pole barn. i put 2 pulleys on the bottom of the rafters and use 2 carabiners on both ends of the kayak, rope through the system and raise it to the rafters and out of the way. usually i cover the seat area with a plastic trash bag and some lite cordage tied to it to hold in over the seat area.

I recently bought a sturdy tarp pole barn at a crazy cheap price on Amazon , no doubt they made a pricing error as it tripled in price after I received it. the metal post are each 1 1/2 diameter and didn't take but a few hours to assemble and amazingly has held up but we'll see how it stands up to winter here in Georgia .I put my pond prowler , my canoe and a riding mower under there and not only fits but stays dry. I have a slip cover I need to put on my yak than put it on top of the canoe. really pleased so far and if you do some shopping on the internet there are some great deals .
