The Words Uncut or Uncircumcised
Im European so circumcision is thankfully relatively rare here. In fact hospitals will refuse to carry out the procedure on a minor unless theres a medical necessity. One eminent paediatrician I spoke with was adamant about it and pointed out that unnecessarily cutting off a healthy part of a persons body is by medical definition, mutilation. His words as an expert.
As a man and as a father of sons Id never have considered it and tbh I find unnecessary circumcision bizarre. Why would you take a blade to a perfectly healthy body part and remove a part that serves numerous health and pleasurable purposes! ( Historical claims that circumcisions is more hygienic etc have been shown to be false puritanical disinformation that became mixed with credulous misinformation. And thats a shocking indictment of a lack of integrity in parts of the medical professions, most notably in the USA.
So to my main point. Describing a normal penis as uncircumcised or uncut is bizarre. Its like describing a normal arm as unamputated or teeth as unextracted.
I know that circumcision can be an emotive topic and I intend no offence to men who have been circumcised either for religious reasons or because of wrongful advice from medics. We are brothers, with or without foreskins.

Everything you say is so true. I prefer the term intact. I've occasionally filled out medical forms (in the US) that have 2 options: circumcised and uncircumcised. To add a comment to your post, I always find it ironic (stupid or ignorant) when an infant boy is circumcised "to look like his dad". If the dad had some sort of deformity (big ears, missing a finger, bow legged, micro penis) would you alter the boy's body to "to look like his dad"?

I agree entirely, whether youre uncut or not.. neither should be considered normal but I can see how its a norm coming from Europe. Unfortunately in the states, its easy to be made fun of for being uncircumcised especially as a kid in the locker rooms or something like that bc its NOT a universally accepted norm from my experience.

I use the terms unaltered and altered.

A really good point. It never really occurred to me until you pointed it out. I grew up in a nudist community, and the words that were always used was "natural" vs "circumcised"...
