Time to clear some dead wood from ENL
As I do regularly, was clearing out a bunch of non-active members of the ENL club, some folk regularly request to re-join even though they never contribute.
I send all new members a message to say we're an active group and want their participation... many agree but never show up.
So, out they go... quite therapeutic for me I have to say.
We're definitely not looking to break records with our number of members, we're going for quality over quantity in everything we do, Flora's topics, Flora's photographic excellence... I do my best too, but fabulous Flora stands head and shoulders above.
Thank you again Flora for all you do for us.

And thank you both for your input and effort. It does take a little time and thought to put together the posts and their accompanying pictures but they always come out great. We, as a group, do appreciate your work.
I tend to be more of a reader than a contributor unless there's something specific that I have to offer. I'm not sure if your approach is beneficial to those looking for new ideas and perspectives or even to validate their own experiences. Food for thought.
Seems kind of unfair to people that are not naturally loquacious. Do members owe "activity" to every group they're in?
Not every group sure, but this one yes... it encourages more activity, more photos, more topics... non activity suggests no interest in really being in the group at all... so we clear out.

Unless there's some feedback how do we know if the effort of posting photos ( not easy with overzealous mods) and writing topics are worth the effort, a nod of approval that takes little effort, seems too much to ask for some. So, if these are just folk who collect group memberships. Then they can go somewhere else... it's always been the same on the ENL group.
I think it's fine for a special group to have a few special requirements, and love the thoughts, challenging ideas and different perspectives I've encountered here. Oh, and the amazing array of delightful images.
Indeed, this group encouraged me to form and contribute thoughts and compliments beyond what I previously felt comfortable doing.
Or, or.. just suggesting an alternative.. it might come off as a bit draconian and high handed for what is otherwise a very friendly group of people.
Well, actually, i so feel i an the gardener in the amazing ENL garden, and i am pruning the roses, cutting away the unwanted suckers that provide no colour, serve no particular purpose and inhibit the scrub from blooming to is potential, I am trimming the bush so that it looks its best!
