Best Spa World Experience
Hey guys, anyone want to kick off storytelling by describing your best (most memorable, first, etc) experience at Spa World. What you expected before you went, what you experienced while there, how you heard about it, or whatever comes to mind. I know we have some writers in the group. Let's hear your thoughts!
Spa World was my first experience at a Korean Spa and the first time I had a body scrub. My first visit was about 12 years ago. This is when the hours were longer etc. I would go on occasion when I visited my company's local office in the area, even if I drove down for the day from eastern PA. If fact, rather than face a nasty storm home on 95 on one night, and went to Spa World, had a scrub, a nice meal, and was able to take as nap before heading home later in the evening. I recall being a little intimated the first time getting a scrub, but you certainly never feel cleaner than after one, and I have had many more over the years. I have not been to Spa World in a while, but I have heard that it is not as nice as it used to me, but hope it improves. I may join a group visit soon, and it would be nice to have some good conversation and banter.
Thank you for sharing that! You will definitely need to come down for a group meetup soon. I hear people say it's not as nice as it used to be but I never hear specifics as to why someone thinks that. Some better maintenance to keep all the jets functioning would be great but I haven't noticed a huge change in all the years I've gone there. Compared to a brand new place like King Spa it might not seem as nice but when those jets hit just right, I don't hear many complaints, lol.
Who's next with a story!
My first time was about 15 years ago. Some of us from NC drove up to meet up with several others from True Nudists. We spent about 6 hours at the spa enjoying the pools and the restaurant. I got a scrub and massage. My skin felt like a baby's bottom when it was over. It was so nice just relaxing with all my new naked friends. I've been back many times since. Bulletisback is right about the jets hitting just the right spots!
Thank you for that story. I love hearing stories of guys who travel for hours just to spend some time socializing and relaxing in a comfortable environment. 6 hours is a hike and I know you've made it several times. It's been great seeing you there on a few trips, and I look forward to hopefully seeing you again soon.
My first time there was little over 2 years, met a friend who had been there before. He told me how great the body scrub and massage was so I signed up. It was my first time ever having a body scrub and good gods did that man scrub me down to the layer of brand new skin lol. I thought I knew how to scrub away the dirt and dead skin in the shower, in fact I showered the morning of before I went, then showered once I got there. And that man got to scrubbing and you could see the little balls of dead skin rolling up. Kind of gross to watch, but man have I never felt cleaner in all my life, skin as smooth as a newborn lol. I stayed for like 6hrs that day, I hit all of the dry saunas and the cold room in the communal area first off as my buddy said the clay ball room gets pretty busy, which it definitely does. And then I spent hours in the wet room, kicked back in the hot tubs, the bade pool, rotating between the steam room or sauna and the cold pool. Took a break and got lunch there as well. It's the only Korean Spa I've ever been to, so I have nothing to compare it to. But I always enjoy myself there and try to go at least every 2-3 months.
This sounds amazing. I wish we had a place like that here in NC
Not sure how far away from Centerville,VA you are, but there are multiple Korean Spas in one area. I've only been to Spa World, but I have friends who have tried King Spa out as well. Spa World has regular Groupon sales up for anywhere from $25-30 for all day entry. That does not include your food or any kind of body scrub or massage. But it does get you into all the dry saunas, cold room, and then the gender specific wet rooms(attached to each locker room) where nudity is allowed. I spend 6hrs+ when I go to make a whole day out of it.
I have enjoyed traditional Korean spas from coast to coast. My experience puts SpaWorld at the top of the list for the East Coast and in many respects for the US.
My most memorable experience was discovering the genius attributable to the engineering, execution and design attributes of the Bade pool. During my first visit I can remember as though it was just now I had a conversation with a gent who demonstrated how the jets massage every part of the human anatomy. To be sure, I had no clue until I observed and then experienced. How different the jets function compared with every hot tub in every spa I had visited until then. I was totally spoiled and truly find the Bade pool is worth the price of admission all by itself. During countless visits over the years I have met and chatted with so many guys who are in a discovery moment as they experienced it for the first time or ask what it is that makes it so remarkable.
The body scrubs are excellent too and I have become friends with the gent who delivers them.
New to the SpaWorld group here on TN. Heck, havent been active on TN for a while either, but trying to change that. I drive about an 1.5-2hrs (depending on traffic ) from the northern Baltimore area to SpaWorld every few months . Ive been going for about 15 years or so. I dont exactly have one specific experience to talk about, but every time I go, I always meet a new friend! Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming, thats one of the things that keep me coming back over and over. I try to bring a friend or two with me each time as well. Some have been and some newbies too. Need to make a trip down in a few weeks to use a Groupon
