Haulover
Heading there for the first time tomorrow.
When I go to Gunnison I drop my shorts or swimsuit as soon as I am out of sight of the road.
Is that permitted at Haulover or is there a designated beginning of the clothing optional area?

One more question, are food and beverages available or do we have to bring our own?

Went yesterday for the first time, some thoughts
Haulover is much better than Gunnison for several reasons.
Larger.
Shorter walk.
Food and showers in clothing optional area.
Lower parking fee,
Some other observations.
While still predominantly male, the percentage female seemed higher.
When looking around the fence at the end of the clothing optional sections, the attendance on the other side seemed much lighter. Perhaps they should reduce the clothing required section from 2/3 of the beach to 1/3.
Seemed like more men arrived shirtless than at Gunnison.
A few undressed/dressed at the edge of the clothing optional area like I do.
A few appeared to arrive or leave covered in a towel and having no clothing with them.

One thing I forgot to mention is that there appeared to be a smaller number of beachgoers minimally covered at Haulover in comparison to Gunnison. Probably because there are more opportunities for women to be topless and both genders to wear thongs in FL than NJ.

Got another quick visit to Haulover yesterday. Another great time. One other thing I noticed is that the crowd is more racially and culturally diverse than Gunnison.

Thank you for the info on Haulover. I am hopefully headed to the Keys in June and I wanted to try to get a day in at Haulover.
What was the rate for the parking? I assume it is the lot across the road and access to the beach via the tunnel. This is my info from using Google Maps.
Is the lot secure? I will be traveling on a motorcycle and not certain what items I may still have on the bike when or if I visit.
Also was there food and drink available to purchase at the beach or do I need to "Sherpa" my own refreshments.
Minimal travel makes for minimal luxuries to carry.

Can buy snacks and drinks from food truck on beach. Moderately expensive.

$8.00 on weekdays and $11.00 on weekends plus tax. Use Pay-to-Park.

I appreciate all of the info, Jackdiver!
Any other tips and tricks are appreciated.

There are lounge chairs and umbrellas available for rent.
Does anyone know the price?

It might be a bargain at any price.
How late after sundown can you stay at the beach? I doubt I would stay for very long after and by mid June, we are looking at the Summer solstice happening so the sun will tuck under late. I am sure this Colorado pale skinned guy will be pretty sunned out by then. I'll be packin' sunscreen fer sure.
