Vermont
Apparently in Vermont it is legal to be nude in public, but not to undress in public.
Sounds like a good reason to leave the house nude when you are driving somewhere!

Indeed, that is the rule. There are some local ordinances about nudity but no general law in the state. Stripping in public is considered to be provocative but simply being nude is not (I tend to agree with the latter and can see the logic in the former). Of course, if no one sees you disrobe, how can it be reported? For these reasons, Vermont is my go-to place for hiking - when the weather cooperates.

Do you drive to your hiking location nude?

Sometimes but, usually, I get to a convenient spot in Vermont and strip off - out of sight of anyone. New Hampshire, where I live, is not so accepting, despite the state motto of "live free or die".

I think many of us would be happy with that compromise over what we have now in our local areas.

Could be a little tricky for me since I live across the from from a high school!

I wouldn't necessarily be 'Vermonting' in my street, but it would certainly open other opportunities such as trails and beaches that are currently not permissible.

Things would be a lot better if most people would get the concept they nude is not lewd. Then it wouldnt matter where you were nude, it could just be normal.

That is fascninating. So, in theory, one could just waltz into walmart naked in Vermont? I would love to do something like that, but honestly, I think I would have to see someone else naked before I would be brave enough to try it. But driving, no sweat, I do that everywhere anyway.

Businesses have the right to set dress requirements. Vermont law only applies to public spaces.
