Sunscreen application
As a single guy that hasn't yet made it to a social naturist venue I have questions. First, is it proper etiquette to offer to help someone apply sunscreen to their back or is it better to wait and see if they ask? Second, how likely is it to find someone to help you apply it to your own back? You here how single men are looked upon so I was just curious to here everyone's opinion. I look forward to hearing from everyone, thank you in advance.
You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours... No, it is always best to let a natural progression of conversation to approad the need for sunscreen application being applied by a veritable stranger. Every circumstance is different, and freedom from clothes does generally make verbal interaction more open and fluid for nudists who are just meeting. Be patient once you find a way to get to a place where nudists congregate - patience and space is important when there's nothing being hidden A couple of pointers includes not putting yourself too close to people you've never met before at the poolside - take that lounge chair at least a few seats away from them, not getting up so close that you can count the freckles on their cheeks, and always being respectful about letting your eyes not linger too long toward them (sunglasses don't hide as much as you think they do about where you're specifically looking.
See someone being stupid about not wearing enough sun protection at a nude resort means they are either new to nudism or drunk, and I see burnt parts at my job at the office commonly. Don't be that guy or gal - skin totally new to bareness in the sunlight will be quite painful in very short order and on parts you use a lot. And the most appropriate place to apply your own lotion EVERYWHERE is before you go to the poolside. Putting lotion on your own penis and all the way up the cracks and crevices in front of others looks a whole lot like self pleasure and will not (and should not) be tolerated at a family-friendly place. SPF also stands for "Self Protection, Fool!" Be thorough and apply often and do it yourself.

Applying lotion before you get there works for a pool at a clothing optional resort but not if you drive to a nude beach. A friend of mine who started going to nudist locations before I did told me that circumcised males have to be extremely careful that the one small part that nature didn't intend to be exposed to the sun doesn't get burned.
Use a spray bottle to apply lotion to your back then youll not need to trouble anyone else.Just out of interest, you joined TN 16 years ago, it seems like a long time to have never experienced social nudity.
Even with a spray bottle you miss spots on your back.
I go to a nude beach several times a year, and have been to clothing optional resorts and nude social gatherings several times. What have I not experienced?

Also have been to a clothing optional spa and gym.

Someone on another board told me youve never been out the house without board shorts on.
I believe them.

Must have mistaken someone else for me. I haven't even owned board shorts for years.
If you're applying sunscreen, I don't think that covering the various cracks and appendages would be a problem as long as you do it in a workman-like manner consistent with how you've applied it elsewhere. As fir the impossible-to-reach areas, I'd probably just quietly ask only about what I can't reach myself. After all, we all understand the issue and this one is as good an icebreaker as anything else.
Having said that, I prefer to avoid sunscreen wherever possible by either keeping out of the sun when it's too strong or limiting my time in the strong sun, so I've never actually asked.
I remember the first time I sunbathed nude. It was the middle of the day and I was diligent to cover all areas, particularly those that had never seen the sun before. Despite that, my penis developed a lovely deep tan after only one session, something that has never happened again. The sunscreen may have been diluted a little due to my excitement of tanning that way, but it did keep me from burning. The first time is indeed unique.
I as part of my spring I spend three or four days at my favorite nudist resort. I almost always miss a spot in the sunscreen application process and get burned somewhere, like the back of my arms. When you are doing your whole body it is hard. This year, however, it was only the top of my ears. I recently got a hair cut. I do use spray sunscreen for my back and have had pretty good luck with that.
