Spas and Saunas in Berlin
Hey hey, finally I will create a list, and will just redirect people here =)
So all saunas and SPAs in Berlin are naked and mixed. You have to be naked inside of the sauna. You may wear a bathrobe moving around. You must wear something to eat in a diner there if it exist. Towel around the hips is enough. You might want to have a second towel to use after a shower before exit.
Public saunas are closed 01.04.25 - 31.10.25
But private saunas work:
- Vabali
- Liquidroom
Gay sauna - Boiler works as well
2 places I recommend outside of Berlin but near:
- Havel-Therme - naked only in Sauna. For the pool and slides underwear is a must.
- Kristall Therme Ludwigsfelde - naked SPA, sport pool is textile. Wednesdays and Sundays are textile friendly days, so it is better to avoid those (lot's of people there).
There are also smaller saunas around Berlin, but I leave this to others to highlight
Ive been travelling to Germany for the naked spa experience for over 20 years now, trying them out all over the country. I started with Baden Baden and spread my wings farther and farther afield.
In all honesty Berlin doesnt have the best (I think that honour goes to Cologne) but it does have enough. I go to Berlin for the naked times wearing little or nothing in the clubs at night and then recovering wearing absolutely nothing in the spas in the day (or evening if Im starting the night late).
Kristalltherme Ludwigsfelde is my absolute favourite. It is a bit of a schlepp out of town 35 minutes or so on a regional train out of the Hauptbahnhof, and then a kilometre or so from the station on foot, but very worthwhile. There are extensive pools, more saunas than you could ever do in a day, a swim up bar and bars that open on the sunbathing lawns in the good weather. The food in the restaurants is good too and that is the only time youll ever need to cover up.
Vabali Spa Ive spent a little more time in recently and it is growing on me especially on a fine day when you can spend the time outside on the lawns, drinking beer naked in the sunshine and occasionally taking a dip in the pools. It is a short walk from the Hbf, so incredibly convenient. My only observation is that if you know its going to be a fine day book your entry online because it gets busy. It never feels overcrowded because it is so huge but they make sure it stays that way by restricting entry occasionally.
Liquidrom I visited for the first time on my last trip over. I dont know why I resisted for so long I think maybe because the centrepiece, the flotation pool with music you cannot be naked in. For an exhibitionist like me, this was a real drawback. However, I got myself some fine mesh white swim trunks that were effectively see through when wet and my exhibitionism was satisfied. The sauna area here is much smaller so its not so easy to spend a long time but I had a very chilled evening there.
Kiez Sauna is the only other one outside of hotels that I have been to, very nice but small and no pool. Increasingly I am only going to places with a pool as I really go to chill out and be seen, so the bigger places suit me better.
