Nude Campgrounds

I am curious. Are there any nude campgrounds on the West Coast? Not talking about the nudist clubs, but a real campground. And are they like the State Park Campgrounds? I've never had the experience of camping nude.

RE: Nude Campgrounds

Most, if not all, nudist clubs and resorts have camping areas - near Seattle, Lake Bronson, Fraternity Snoqualmie, and Lake Associates all have such areas. Additionally, Doe Bay Village resort on Orcas Island has clothing optional hot tubs and sauna, and beach, with camping areas immediately adjacent that I would guess would offer clothing-optional camping.

There used to be a private beach called Red, White and Blue Beach up north of Santa Cruz, CA. You could camp there but it would have been dry camping. There were porta potties but no hook ups for RV's, although you could park an RV there with no problem and the rates were quite reasonable. The property was sold. The owners were getting to old to maintain the property. It was slightly taken over by folks who spent most of their time having sex in many areas of the property regardless of the rules against it. The owners couldn't get out there to police the beach so ... things went on that hadn't when the owners were able to roam their property.
One of the best "campground" nudist clubs is in Northern California ... Laguna Del Sol. The camping areas are tent sites to full hooks ups and they all are right next to the small lake within the resort. We are planning on visiting LdS in the fall and taking our motorhome. We visited once before and stayed in the hotel rooms but will be doing a nudist/textile trip, visiting textile places and staying at nudist clubs and with nudist friends throughout the trip.
There are places you can camp in Death Valley. Many of the sites are remote enough where you could easily get away with camping nude. It's all dry camping but you're out there on your own and there is wild life and who knows what else. You can be quite some distance from emergency services and No, Zero, zilch cell service! It is also my plan to take my wife out there for one or two nights and camp naked and go naked4x4'ing up the canyons a little ways. According to a Ranger I spoke with on our last Guys/Sons camping trip, she said it was not illegal to be naked out there or drive naked out there and said, "just wear your seat belt and be care... ;-)!
There is a full hook up campground nearby where we will stay after a couple days out there in a remote campsite. Other than that, I'm not aware of any campgrounds that are not part of a nudist club on the west coast. Good luck!
