I was in a LA Fitness near my office and after my workout I went for a shower then to the dry sauna. I went in naked and sat on my towel. Two guys were there and one got up and walked out. A minute later a LA Fitness guy came in and told me to cover myself out of respect. The two guys were from Afghanistan - Muslims. They were offended by nudity and reported me.
I have Muslim friends and respect their cultural bias for modesty, but they also respect me as coming from another culture with different values where being clothed in a sauna is consideredunhygienic. Your gym should have a policy to refer to in order to keep calm and respect.
I think I would drop my member ship. If they are Muslims they need to go to a Muslim gym or may be Gold Star where your required to wear something all the time in the locker room. I do not understand why a couple of people can dictate rules that effect the majority, same with TV and movies, If there is something you don't like just change the channel or not go to see it. The majority should rule all cases, not the minority, we are letting a few dictate what they want and the majority is having to deal with these few people, it not right guys find you a better gym that allows nudity and let the conservatives put there self out of business. i've been hearing thatthere are korean spas in downtown L.A.and everyone not only hangs out naked, but is encouraged to do so...my buddy went with his boss and saidthe towels are tiny so that you see dongand ass no matter what!i think i'm going to start doin that to getback into a nude welcoming environment
Nudity is required at these places. I went to one in orange county yesterday and almost everyone was uncovered. No clothing is allowed. My kind of place... haven't found anything like that in the Phoenix area... sounds great!
I think for hygienic purposes, people should be required to take a
shower naked and use the steam, sauna setting on a towel and the
hot tub naked, this includes a shower between each to each of the
above, including swimming pools unless they are in a mixed
area, and the ones who are so scared of nudity should stay
away from places where nude people are, no one makes them look,
they do it because they want too.
Not bothered about gyms, can do excercises at home in private andunrestricted. why would I have to work out to be seen?
It's not so much about exercising it's more about being able to bond with other men.
Wolverine, there's a Korean Spa right close to my office. It's just like you described--clothing in the wet areas is not allowed.
You should come down and go with me. It's awesome! I'll text you.
It does seem kinda strange don't it. Another thing strange to me is that so many people on here claim to be nudist, yet they do not have any nude pics. I feel that real nudist do not mind showing their skin. I also agree that there are a lot of gaulkers here too and that is why I have my pics limited to friends, I like to know who is looking and also if they have nude pics too.

see that offends me. i mean if you were hanging out nakedin a mosque i'd be like "ok" but when you're at an americangym.. and you have to magically know if you're goin to offendsomeone with nudity based on whatever religion they may or maynot be.. i'm agnostic and respect everyone's faith.. butnot when that faith infridges on people's basic rights.this is just like how conservative evangelicals say thatsame sex marriage takes away from their religious freedom.
