...ideas for my outdoor shower

I really just joined this group because I wanted to look at the
outdoor showers that others have around their homes. The look so
simple but choosing my own will not be. I actually think I'd like
to get one of those large shower heads that simulate
rainfall.

...opinions?

We "googled" "outdoor showers" and browsed thru the pics to get ideas. We finally picked a hybrid of several designs and built it ourselves. We love it. We use quite a bit every weekend when we are working outside to get the dirt off or just to cool off.

Have you ever tried one of those shower heads that simulate rainfall? While they look cool, they're kinda a pain in the ass. Not really effective at getting you clean, and not relaxing or massaging at all. And, you can't easily keep your face out of the water stream and just wash your body so it just becomes awkward. My humble opinion, anyway. I'd hate to see you put a beautiful outdoor shower in and not like using it.

I'm with you on the rainfall shower head. It looks nice in the shower but it really is not the head to use to get clean with!
It is hard to wash soap out of your head or if you want to wash off your feet it just doesn't have enough flow to the right spot.
Maybe one of the heads on a hose with the adjustable sprays. The box stores usually have a brand x for fairly cheap.

RE: ...ideas for my outdoor shower

My outdoor shower is fairly simple. Just a wooden deck with 3 sides made from wood. Used alternate board spacing on the sides and the boards on the back have a 1 inch space between them. It is a front walk in and and the shower extends up on a piece of fence board from an attached mixing valve. The shower head is the hand wand type and allows me the option of standing under the shower head or using the wand. My hot water comes from an on-demand propane heater and with the mixing valve, I can control the temperature of the water. Unfortunately, my shower is at my camper at my local club. Absolutely no privacy at my home to install an outdoor shower.
