2017 Trip

That's a bounty of information. Thank you. I'm there twice annually as I make sure it's in my travel stop-over schedule. Never thought the Dutch would have a nude beach. My guess is orient beach is the busiest. If a guy wanted something less traveled which beach is that and what could I expect? If I could wrangle my retirement appropriately I would greatly enjoy retiring on the island.

It's US$20 to rent abeach umbrella and two chaise lounges for the day. Just find an untagged couple chairs, plop down, and soon a CO guy will come along to collect the $20. Day trippers to the beach, still, are not allowed access to the club grounds above the beach, showers, and store though, I think, but never tried, to use the restaurant. We go there a couple times per year on cruise ship stops.

Wife and I are considering a trip to St Martin, staying at our timeshare on the Dutch side. A few questions:1. How much of Orient Beach is nude?2. Does Club Orient control that section?3. Does CO have day visits?4. Are non CO guests allowed on their (pay) nude snorkels?5. Are there other nude beaches on SM, either side?ThanksThe beach in front of Club Orient is the only nude portion left. Maybe 1/4 of the beach. All beaches in France are public so nobody controls it, but Club O does maintain it. Anyone can rent loungers on the nude section of the beach, or just put a blanket out. You can book sailings on the Tiki Tiki at the Papagayo restaurant on the beach, and can rent other gear at the watersports hut, even if you are not staying at Club O.
We have been to Happy Bay as well. Completely different vibe than Orient.

Also, our window is May to August. Any thoughts on when to go?We always went in June ... wife's work schedule. June is warm, the water is 82+ degrees and it can be humid at times. We've had some rain during that time but it's never really kept us off the beach and seemed to always happen late at night. Some of the restaurants were closed but there are so many, you can't really tell.
The June crowd was more our speed and the resort and beach was full of others in education. My wife made friends easily with that commonality. We'd stay over into July once and it was a bit too partyish for my wife but I would have liked to stay and joined in. With my wife now retired and our close friends now retired, we'll try other times of the year to visit. But we only know of weather in June and we've not returned to Club Orient since '09! We're dying to get back!!!

We've been in April and June and it was about the same in weather
and beach atmosphere, so May is probably very similar as well.

There is also www.orientbeachforum.com for info about the nude
portion of Orient Beach. They agree with Andy that July is more of
a party atmosphere, with organized beach ball races and other games
to try and talk the cruise visitors into getting nude.
