RE: Political Correctness

Rudie - very well said. Political correctness is nothing more than another form of censorship, and always was. Political correctness was about not offending anyone's sensibilities - and some people need to have their sensibilties offended (particularly the immature). As far as the rightbeing the only ones using the term - wrong. I've heard plenty of liberals over the years use it.

You have a knack of getting right to the heart of the matter Rudie. I think I might add socially inept to it as well. As Gerrysaidit might have looked good on paper but ....

As usual, on target.
Obama is taking our freedom. On the health care, the american people said we do not want it. Obama, who cares, you will take it because I say so. American people say protect our borders. Obama says no, I need the criminals to vote for me. Americans say protect our shores from oil. Obama refused help that could have kept the oil from our shores. The American people are losing there rights and we need to take back our rights in Nov.
'Scuse me ? CONGRESS passed "health care" not a single man. No, most people didn't want it, but put the blame where it belongs, on your own elected congress-critter.
Boarders ? That's so balled up in "agency" and "commission" blame deferment it's almost impossible to say.
Oil spill ? Again, congressional and EPA action, not the most recent occupant of a particular oval shaped office.
As a mostly Libertarian, ( as opposed to libertine ) I've little use for any of the Republicrats, be they textile or nudist.

RE: Political Correctness

On health care issue. Curt said "Your own elected congress" No it was NOT all of congress that voted for the health care bill. Only Democrates, who Voted for something they never read and will fix later. I say Bull-shit on doing something like that. As far as the border is concerned, I believe like Most any true American believes that you come here like our fore fathers and learn English. Why should we the tax payer be stuck with having to give them health care, welfare, housing, schooling. If you feel we should pay for criminals then you Pay and let us americans support our country. We did not ask them to come here so if you don't like it here, you know where the door is. I fought for this country to give you and everyone else the right to freedom of speech.

RE: Health Care

I'm getting SO tired of hearing this line of BS about how the "majority of Americans" didn't want the health reform bill to be passed by Congress. While it's true that the polling data showed a narrow majority of the people didn't agree with the bill, the right-wingers out there conveniently leave out the fact that many of those who opposed the bill did so because they believe it did not go far enough and wanted to hold out for a bill that included a public option. If you remove those people from the polling data, you no longer have a "majority". It's a total misrepresentation of the facts to state that the American people did not want health care reform.

NudeInMA, you hit the target right on. I agree with everything you said. What some of us are saying is our rights are being taken away. An that means when it came to the health care bill. America did want change, but not a change from poor to out right terrible.
