Chatroom
I've been a member here for well over 5yrs and never once in all that time been banned from the chat room. Today that happened, I received a message from admin saying 'BE POLITE' and was banned withing the space of 1sec... seriously???
Seeing as admin do not give any opportunity to ask why I got the 'BE POLITE' message (admin obviously trigger happy with the ban button and thinking they are God, this needs to be addressed btw). I could understand being banned for doing something not allowed on cam (I certainly wasn't doing anything like that as I only ever show the top half of myself anyway).
All it was was me (being on cam) and clicking on the other members in the chat that were on cam too... possibly looking to chat. Scrolling down the chat list I got to a member and clicked on their cam... within 2secs (not enough time to even begin to send a message even if I wanted to was blocked by this member. I responded by saying in a pm 'Thanks for that Merry Christmas'... he responded by saying 'he doesn't like lurkers (I viewed his cam for 2secs... I certainly wasn't lurking!) and continued to say 'I'm fed up with people asking me where I'm pierced (that was another thing I certainly didn't do), the only thing I responded to him was 'If you don't like people asking you that... you might be as well changing your username (his username contained the word 'pierced').
And that got me banned from the chat??? Oh please... people in the chat when admin aren't about do far worse that that... I wasn't abusive, didn't use abusive language, I only suggested him changing his username. Come on admin in the chat... get your act together and stop being so trigger happy with the ban button. It's ridiculous!
Has any other member had an experience of being banned from chat for such a pathetic reason?
Exactly scousescrum... it's pathetic... his cam loaded up, the pic came up then he clicked block... I wouldn't have had the chance to even send a message even if I wanted to. Then obviously after he said what he said and I suggested he change his username (I mean... having 'pierced' as part of a username is an open invite for people to ask) he went running to admin and admin being admin just clicked on their little friend, the 'ban' button... not even giving anyone any opportunity to explain what had happened... the power they feel must be immense!
Anyone know how long the ban from the chat lasts or is it a permanent ban?
I messaged all chat admin and only had 1 reply... I don't know who it was who banned me so messaged them all... here's the 'helpful' reply I had back from one of them...
"Please contact the Chat Moderator who kicked you out. I was not there and do not know the whole story..........Please do not continue to contact me about this issue as I will construe it as harassment and report it as such......"
It's nice to see that they are so helpful don't you think? Rude springs to mind!
Were you kicked or banned?
This is what I read from the "contact us" section:
If you were kicked from chat you will be able to re-enter the chat room in 3 days
If you were banned from chat it is permanent
Hopefully you can get back into chat-room, if not, believe me, you are not missing anything. Some people just felt insecure or were in the bad mood so they did that to you. Don't be discouraged or upset about it.
I was kicked once too for no reason or at least I didn't know what's wrong.

yes, the chatroom is pretty much a waste of time unless you are part of one of the cliques. if you enter the room and try to join a conversation or ask a question you generally get ignored, and the power crazed mod complaint has been ongoing since they first appointed mods to the chatroom, it seems you are proven guilty without a chance of being proven innocent.

I was booted out of chat room yesterday, not sure of the reason why, i was wearing a towel, the mod was watching and i even messaged them later on to ask why, the message system says they've read it , but don't have thew decency to reply. As an "etiquette" thing i say hi to someone if i click on their cam, i guess moderators don't , so they can "catch you out"!!!
So Les and Sharon , if you read this, is it too hard to explain why you booted me out?
Just got back in after 3 days I wont name the Aussie mod as I don't like to mock the afflicted. I sit with my cam up a height as its my only place to put it. You can not see my little willy, even I have problems with that you see the side of my head and the top.
Question is what is the problem Mr Moderator ? My cam is where it is its not offensive all are free to watch and post on here to confirm it.
Will I get an answer ? I leave that to the person in question to just say sorry Im only human after all don't put the blame on me (Rag and Bone man)

Having been in TN since 2009, I see the chatroom kicking/banning issue comes up constantly and frequently.
Myself, I rarely say much in the open, as it rarely tends to be fruitful, just chit-chat without much sense and I like a conversation to make a point. I guess I have been kicked out of a chat once and that when I was not even communicating with anyone. But I:
a) never cam and very rarely click on cams, either (even then usually very briefly)
b) never try to contact people in the open chat
and
c) only rarely engage in open chat at all
Seems that people are very good in interpreting messages wrong if they have ill will. On the other hand, many cases seem to be about camming and then it seems at least debatable whether the one keeping the cam open was following the rules.
All in all, seems that many people who are in chat never read the forum and many who contribute to forum rarely or never chat. I guess I was in TN for at least 3 yrs before I started chatting. Now I do it frequently as forum has sort of same or similar types of topics coming up and contributing there seems a bit repetitive at times.
All in all, this site is far from perfect but in general kicking out of chat can be deducted to 2 things; either abusing powers or stretching the rules. Avoiding seeing mods or being seen by them and adhering to rules does probably help to avoid the kicking.
