increased awareness?
Have you noticed that being in nature in a state of nature intensifies all your senses? Feeling the breeze and sun on all my skin makes the colors more vivid and increases my awareness of and appreciation for the sounds of nature. Has anyone else noticed this?
I've been enjoying my cup of coffee out in the middle of their yard on several occasions and have had deer wonder close by. I often wonder if they feel less threatened because I am naked.
The deer are ok, but don't get to close to the sheep.

Most definitely. That is one of the reasons I love nudity so much. Walking in the woods nude, amplifies all my senses. It is as if I become part of nature. The smells become so much more. The colors are so much more. The feel of the breeze on my body, grass on my feel, even spider webs across my chest all become so much more. The greatest sense that is amplified for me is the feeling of freedom. I feel so free when I am alone in the woods completely naked and just soaking in nature. It is impossible to explain to anyone that has not experienced it, so I always encourage people to try it at least once.
I completely agree. We know of a few hikes not too far from home where we walk nude with a few friends at times. Its rare to see anyone else, they're a mix of woods and open country, exploring nature naked heightens our awareness almost to the extent that we've discovered an new dimension.
A local nudist beach is backed by high cliffs with very few ways down to it and its not overlooked by any human habitation. Its completely natural, no concrete, the nearest parking is 25 mins walk away and wonderfully suited to nudists looking to get out in nature. There are a few areas of lower cliff that are partially wooded with a few short trails that are good to explore nude(1st photo, mid evening on the way home), you're only likely to meet other nudists so there's no need to carry anything to cover up. As other access points to the beach are at least 40 mins in one direction and about an hour in the other this means you can walk along the beach for a few miles naked and again with no need to carry anything. Nudists seeking quiet spots away from the main beach and occasional walkers are the only people you're likely to meet. The beach has a mix of shingle at higher levels and rocks at lower levels mixed with large areas of fairly flat sand, especially at low tide, so there's a range of places to explore. We see seals, dolphins, peregrine falcons, buzzards and much more, oh gulls as well!. Exploring all this nude, and unencumbered by needing to carry anything as we've left our stuff with friends, really does feel free. The senses do feel as if they've been increased by nudity.
We sometimes walk along the coast to or from this beach if its a low tide (2nd photo - early morning). After rounding the first point after about 10 mins we often complete the walk nude. Most textiles don't wander far along it so you're only likely to see a few other nudists doing the same as us. The only unnatural things you're likely to see are occasional fishing boats or much larger vessels way out in the English Channel(for any French reading - La Manche). A 30 min nude walk in nature is a great way to arrive for a day of social nudism with friends at the main beach.
Yes, senses are definitely sharper. It is unfortunate in one sense, but since I live in a wilderness area, I NEVER go anywhere unarmed, whether that be a pistol, or my Benelli M2 shotgun in bear country, or even a combination walking staff/spear in case I encounter a mountain lion. So, I cannot be completely nude, but I would rather be safe. But being nude definitely makes one hyper sensitive.
Don
I was out hiking one time when a thunderstorm unexpectedly broke out. I hadn't been planning on hiking nude that day; but within seconds my clothes were completely drenched. Since the trail was abandoned I just bundled up my clothes and used my shorts strings to tie them around my waist before proceeding to haul butt.
That day I felt Mother Nature, unfettered, in all it's terrible awesomeness. I felt the heavy raindrops hitting every part of my nude body, and the cool wind enveloping me; with the lightening zipping over me. It was exhilarating. My awareness on all of it was super-heightened. I ran all the way back, with a mixture of exhilaration, apprehension and physical exhaustion. When I reached my car I jumped in, reached for the towel in the backseat and drove home nude.
Experiencing nature completely naked puts the nature in naturism.
Like Newnude, I too started running the woods naked at a young age. I'm not sure the feel of sun, wind, and water on my bare skin made me more aware of my surroundings but it sure made (and still makes) me appreciate them. Being naked in nature has to be one of life's greatest pleasures.
Absolutely. I became fully aware of this on a camping trip picking blackberries. With no clothes to protect me from the thorns, I was aware of the position of every cane of the plant, every part of my body, and did not get scratched. Walking barefoot, I am truly aware of the ground.
No question that all my senses wake up more when I am naked out in nature. Actually, I think my creative juices flow stronger too. I noticed a while ago that the nature photos that I take when I'm naked tend to be just a little better than when I'm dressed. I no longer play sax, but wonder I'd be a little more virtuosic, hmm.
I find it amusing that sometimes I will be somewhere that I usually enjoy naked, but can't be for some reason. All my senses will be sort of "whining" that the whole experience isn't like it's supposed to be.
I agree completely. I also think that our native birds feel less threatened when nude. I have a pair of King Parrots which will come up to me and 'talk' when I am nude on my deck or in the garden. They will even allow me to get my camera and wait till I return.
Last year hiking in the rain was a whole new experience.
