Hosting in Los Angeles

The busy season is approaching for Los Angeles. If you're planning a trip, I recommend making couch requests early. Active hosts, like myself, get booked up early.

As always, read every host's profile and send a personalized couch request. Many active hosts use 'key words' that need to be mentioned in a couch request to show you have actually read their profile.

And be sure to see if there are any max number of days a host will have a surfer. Even if your dates are flexible, let the host know you read and understand they host for 'up to x' number of nights. They will appreciate you having read the details and can work out with you which dates are best to cover your trip.

Plan to make dinner or bring a small 'thank you' something from your country for your host. Shows you are grateful.

For a busy city like Los Angeles/Hollywood/West Hollywood/Santa Monica, you can expect to need to send 50 requests or more.

Good luck, and surf on!
