WWII Bomber nose art

A very close friend of ours and I, recently visited the Pima Air Museum near Tucson, AZ. The weather was not cooperating enough for us to be naked and frankly, sitting inside the condo we'd rented wasn't high on our list, even if we were gonna be naked. We decided to venture out and see some of Tucson we'd not seen. The Air Museum was high on our list as was AMARG, the military aircraft "boneyard."

While walking the 80 acres of vintage planes on display and the 5 exhibit hangers, we came across a hanger dedicated to the B-17. On one wall were banners of the actual nose art of many of these bombers. It was interesting to see how much nudity was allowed to be painted on the nose of these aircraft by those is authority. It was a morale booster and gave these brave young men pride to fly these machines into battle.

I've posted a couple of pics of nose art and have many more to post once I download them off my phone. I was pleasantly surprised that TNS's newest publication of N magazine had a cover picture of WWII Bomber nose art and an article of an air museum in WI that had a display of nose art. We had a great time during our week of vacation in Tucson. My friend and I went on several hikes but it was always too cold to hike naked. Visiting the air museum, the boneyard and the Nike Missile site tour were great alternatives for not being able to enjoy some nude time, due to weather.

I will post many more pics from our visit to the air museum.

RE:WWII Bomber nose art

Surprisingly, we've not yet visited the March Air Force Base Air Museum or the Chino Air Museum. We have visited the San Diego Air and Space Museum in Balboa Park. :D
