Spring of 2017 is here! (Well, at least *here*, maybe not *there*) SO I HIKED!
I finished a late afternoon, 2 mile-ish, 3 hour, hike/bushwack at sunset today (3/23/17). Part trail, part X-C, part old logging road in my friendly local forest. Stripped my tan/flesh colored tshirt off once in the trees, lightweight running shorts soon thereafter, left the maintained trail (even though no cars at the trailhead), and navigated to my secret spot about a mile back in the woods. I sat on a rock in the sun, then dropped down to the perfect skinnydipping hole that is still to cold to try, then feeling the chill of the shady side of the mountain and cool air along the creek bottom (ambient air temp about 60 F), I picked up the pace on the old logging road. Ah, the feeling of cool air on bare skin, and the old muscles pumping! And to top it all off ..... I found a fresh 4 point whitetail deer shed on the way back!
Life is good! (at least until the highway comes back in to view).
So, WHAT have you hiked lately???!
That sounds so lovely. Much more fun than my walk (not hiking)
I've taken up the Cancer Research "Walking all over cancer" challenge. The challenge is to walk a minimum of 10,000 steps every day for the whole of March.
However, I've taken it a bit further, as well as doing my normal day job I am doing the equivalent of walking from the Royal Marsden cancer hospital in London to the Royal Manchester Children's cancer hospital, a total of 172 miles - or 5.5 miles every single day in March.
As mu job mostly involves me being glued to my desk, this means that I have to fit in a 3 mile walk as well as eating my lunch during my lunch hour. Then try to get the other 2.5 miles during the rest of the day.
That means that not only do I not really get time to enjoy my walk, I also have to do it round the city centre, and therefore fully clothed. In fact I'm still wearing my tie when I do it :-(
The ironic thing was that Monday was officially the first day of spring, and since then the weather has got worse.

Theres a special trail that I like to walk near to my home......I knew it was there and so followed my nose ,,,,,,and I decided not to dress but to follow the trail until I saw someone or got to the bridge near the parking lot. I actually got to the bridge where I re-clothed myself and returned to my car. All in all I walked about two and a half hours. It was wonderful. I usually go at mid-day on work days. So far at those times I have seen nobody else.
Congrats on a great day hiking! I got a little hike in myself. I like the "followed my nose" technique, and you apparently know your area well. That's the key to a finding a good place for a nude hike, in my experience. Know, or learn, your own area, explore and experiment, test the waters carefully, and apply common sense (correct time of day, day of week, use patterns of an area etc. So many people want it handed to them on a platter. Nothing wrong about asking for advice and info, ahead of time, in fact it is highly recommended. But ultimately, only we know what will suit our own needs. Google Earth/Maps is a great tool for finding trails, closed roads, meadows etc you wouldn't ever know was there (and seeing areas to stay away from).
Good luck with future hikes . And check for ticks. I found two on me once I got home. Easier when you're nekkid too! -Nudeprewd 4/27/2017
