Daleks in another world
I apologize if I am possibly repeating a previous post-
Daleks appeared in the Lego Batman movie, but they were labeled as "British Robots"!
I'm glad the producers mashed the Dr Who and Lego worlds together,
but at least they could have done their homework and did it correctly.
It wasn't a lack of homework that led to them being called "British Robots" rather than Daleks. The producers knew quite well what they were really called, but they didn't have an official license from the BBC to use "Daleks" in the movie, so they couldn't legally call them by name. They can show them the way they did because they are not LITERALLY Daleks, they are a parody of Daleks because they are made of Legos.
That's why they called them "British Robots," which was almost a better joke since we all knew what they were supposed to be but it was like the characters didn't know - which was funny. Not to mention it might have begged the question, so where's "Lego Doctor" to stop them? Maybe next time?
