Solar Eclipse Oregon USA 2017 August 21st
Hello fellow nudists,
I am flying to Los Angeles and renting a car to drive to Eastern Oregon on the Obscurity Line to see the Solar Eclipse:
Flight to LAX Aug 19 in the evening from Iceland.
Driving all day August 20 from LA (Silverlake) to Easter Oregon, camping naked.
Solar Eclipse begins on Aug 21 at 10am.
Potentially the highest mountain in Oregon near Unity, Oregon.

My name is Miracle.
After the eclipse, I'm driving back to LA the rental car. If we split the costs that'd be cool. Camp naked and such.
I need to be in Santa Rosa by Aug 22 to help my camp get ready for Burning Man, I'd rather have someone else providing the vehicle but if I have to do the rental it has to be returned in LA: just saying ^_^
Good luck with your travels. Central and Eastern Oregon are expecting to see a half million or more visitors during the Eclipse. The only highways into the area are two lane and an accident can shut them down in both directions for hours. There is likely to be shortages of gas, water, and food not to mention rooms to rent. Campsites and motel rooms have been reserved months in advance. If you do come, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. The state is treating this event as a dry run for the big Cascadia Fault Earthquake (expected 9 to 10 magnitude). All this for a maximum of 2.5 minutes of solar eclipse. Again, good luck! We live here and plan on just hunkering down for the duration.
PS: On a good day and light traffic you might be able to reach Unity in a VERY long day driving from LAX. We're talking around 18 hrs or more. With the expected traffic you won't make it in even two long days. And don't even think of flying up. All the airports in the region are going to be over capacity including the small ones.
Local governments here are telling locals to prepare for severe shortages of everything but people.
There is an open invitation from a group member here to camp free at his place for this event, if you're interested. https://www.truenudists.com/group/campers-in-the-nude/1/121000/ This is from a thread started in this group a few days ago. At least you would be around other nudists while watching this happen. You might want to contact him for information.
Please remember that just getting to Central Oregon involves driving a hundred miles or more on two lane highways, much of it through high desert in the middle of the summer. It is NOT a place you want to be stranded due to accidents on the highway or to discover the gas stations have run out of fuel.
While a half- million people doesn't sound like much to folks from major urban areas, it is at least twice the local population if not more. Our infrastructure, including water supplies and sewage capacity are going to be severely stressed during this event. Please don't get the idea that this event is a good idea for a spontaneous outing. If you don't already have reservations, don't come.
