Park in the car park walk back to towards the bottom of the road
Looking at the city end you will see a track
Walk along it and enjoy

I used to go there when I lived in Melbourne. Sunnyside is a bay beach so no waves, not much beach at high tide. I go to the 2 x CO beaches near Torquay / Geelong, ocean beaches, waves & more space.
