Lost..
Have you ever been lost? I mean really lost? No cell phone coverage, no maps,no help, that kind of lost? Well in my excitement to get out after the rain yesterday, today i wanted to go to Jersey find a paper road in the pine barrens and walk skinny dip and hopefully run into some people.
Pulled up to the pine barrens off of 206 and 73 found some paper roads with some water ways and parked my car. The fire Marshall in his red truck went by, three times, so i put my clothes back on till i could get deeper in the woods. In the car i could see the trails i had to take. I had to follow one road to a fork in the road turn left then a quick right and then i could see a creek follow that alittle ways to the river...simple to do i could see it on my phone in the car but after the fire marshall drove by and i put my clothes back on i didnt look at my phone. I grabbed my stuff headed down what i thought was the same trails and when i wanted a good picture i undressed. Turned on my camera and then i noticed no coverage no map no service. I put down my tripod set my timer took my shirt off and realized i was surrounded by poison ivy. Great just great!!! I hate poison ivy and now im surrounded. I forget i put the phone on timer, the picture goes off, and i was feet away water. Somehow i didnt care about the water what i did care about was how long i had been in this ivy. How can i get out of here without being covered in the ivy. Oh it will be weeks of lotion and scratching i said to myself. My day was ruined. I had to get out NOW. But i was lost. I couldnt see where i came in or how to get back on the trail. I tried to turn on the google maps but no coverage. I should have screen shot it before i got out of the car. That is one great rule screen shot all of your maps so incase you get into a situation like me you just go to your gallery and pull up your map and it will not matter if you have coverage you will have your map.BUT NO i forgot that rule. Poison ivy had taken my mind over and i was lost, panicking
Another good thing is to use your car key to push it to hear your horn it will let you know how to get back, but i was to far away, it didnt work.
Have you ever been lost? How did you get out?
Have you any tips to teach me?
What would you do if you were in my situation?
How do you deal with poison ivy?
Well i did get out and i did wash, but i feel alittle itch on both arms, i hope its not poison ivy... Will find out soon enough... Be blessed please leave a comment thanks.
Never been lost, but share your dislike of poison ivy, and can completely understand your panic! Luckily i've never gotten into it unnoticed. When I use my weedwhacker I have to completely cover my skin or i'm sure to get poison ivy rash on anything exposed. Definitely one chore never to be done nude!
Did you catch poison ivy? And if so, hope you didn't get any in "sensitive" areas. I read years ago that you should wash yourself really well after exposure to P I, but what most don't know is you actually have to scrub yourself to get all the P I oils off you. Something like a dish scrubber is best with lots of soap. I did that last year when I also was exposed to P I and didn't get any rash.
