Male v. Female Nudity and Swimwear Differences
I have noticed that the nude beach I visit has a substantial majority of males in attendance.
This seems contradictory with the fact that female swim attire in general provides less coverage overall than what men wear, even though it includes some type of top.
Any thoughts on this?
That is a strange thing. The lack of women in nude recreation is generally accredited to the way men act toward them. (failing to control their lust) And then the second reason, body image perception, "I don't look good enough". But men being more likely to go nude, while long shorts have become popular. And women less likely to go nude, when skimpy is popular with them already. Is a crazy opposite thing.
The trend over the last few decades has been toward less coverage for women and more for men. I'm not sure why the long baggy shorts have become popular with men, it's even worked it's way into competition shorts. Briefs with slim side coverage used to be everyday life in the competition swim scene, now it's considered archaic, old school. Still seen here and there, but pretty low percentage of young people using them, usually it's the older guys wearing the brief swimwear. Men tend to have more confidence, and care less how they look. So that may help them feel OK nude better than women. Gym shorts used to be common wear for both men and women, 2-3" inseam, but now I never see men in them, (except myself) but women still wear them commonly. And then I've heard a hint of a trend where brief swimwear is identified with gay men. And that's something that worries me slightly, since I am going to wear as little as possible (and still look appropriate) when i start swimming for exercise at a university pool, and I don't want to be labeled erroneously. If that's actually true, it could be one reason for men going long. But nude is no label of anything, except being lewd to those who don't get it. And that we deal with anyway.
I think if anyone comes to me asking if I'm gay or strait. I'll tell them, I am happy, but I'm not always strait, often I sit down and then I'm crooked.
