Nudity in Ancient to Modern Cultures
Hi All,
This is an excellent article about Nudism in history that I discovered on the net written by Aileen Goodson. It is very interesting and well researched.

I wish all 'Textiles' would read this and be a bit for informed before they so harshly judge the nudist community.

Thanks for posting this. It is indeed a rather long but fascinating article. Her research is comprehensive and to the point while her comparisons to religious thought at various points of history and its effect on nudity is logical and self evident.
I think there is a lot we can learn from history including the mistakes they made. I wonder if anyone in the future will look back at our time and laugh at how foolish we were to force peoples and cultures to wear clothes. I already look at our culture that way but it isn't a widespread view.
Sadly I think it is unlikely to change much in our lifetime. Globalisation, media and entrenched laws make it very hard to change. For instance, the media sensationalises anything related to nudity as some sort of perversion and almost always tries to sexualise it to justify themselves. We are flooded with global media from news, the web etc. This only tightens and entrenches laws against our free body beliefs. Hopefully the undiscovered land of Utopia will be found and we can all go and live happily naked there.
