How many firefighters are nudist do you think?
Hi. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one on our department who is a nudist. We are a combination career/ volunteer dept. There are 4 fulltime and the rest are volunteers. The fire chief works during business hours during the week. Myself and two others works 24hr shift. I'm an engineer/ firefighter/ EMT. I tell them here don't come up here late at night unless you call first. I sleep in the nude and have no problem being naked. I would think if we had another nudist here they would tell me or maybe not. I have been here for 20 years.
Probably many more on my department, in comparison. We had over 3000 uniformed/sworn personnel. I knew of at least 4 other nudist firefighters and several others, including a couple of female firefighters, that admitted to enjoying being naked at home most of the time. But I suspect there were many others but they kept pretty tight lipped about it. I've actually run into three of the nudist firefighters at nude places; one at the beach, one at our club and just recently another at a resort.
Strange thing is that "they" all knew I was a nudist. I never kept that a secret from anyone and when I was able, I was naked at the fire house at different times. Mostly late at night or very early mornings. I had my own private dorm at my station and enjoyed working other fire houses with a Captain's dorm. At times I had to share the dorm but the other Captain on duty knew I slept nude and was fine with it. I only had one that gave me the entire dorm and went and slept in the main dorm with everyone else ... he was weird anyway!
Strangely, coming from a very large department, more people knew about me than I thought. Lots of times I'd introduce myself and I get a response ... "Oh, I know who you are. You're the Naked Fireman! You're always running around naked at the fire station." I'd usually respond, "Well ... I don't "run around" but yeah, I'm the nudist fireman!" 95% of the time, I'd get asked lots of good, serious questions. The other 5% acted like little kids.
Nowadays ... I'm not sure you'd find out who is and who isn't. The younger guys today are so dang hung up on nudity that they'll take a shower with swim suits on! I had one firefighter on my shift that wouldn't get in the shower until everyone else vacated the head and locker room. He was also weird. He once came into my office and voiced his concern about my nudity. I told him that we could reach a compromise. I'd go up, do my thing in the mornings and evenings after EVERYONE was done but after they left the head and locker room upstairs, they were NOT to return until I came downstairs. That lasted about 3 shirts and the he finally admitted that my nudity wasn't really a big deal. I'm glad he finally transferred out ... after working with me for over 3 years!
The females, once they found out, would talk to me privately, at my request. I needed to get the ground rules straight for our 24 hr shift together. Once that was done, surprisingly, both females admitted to being naked at home most of the time but didn't think they were nudists and they would not bring that to the fire house for obvious reasons. We made arrangements and compromises so I would not purposely expose them to my nudity but both of them said ... "No worries Cap, if it happens, it happens. We're all adults!" I would have rather had those two working on my shift than the little wimp that finally transferred!
I worked a station on my dept. that was an actual 3 bdrm house, 2 bath. The Captain's bdrm had it's own bathroom, shower stall, sink and toilet. The other bathroom that the Engineer and Firefighter shared had a tub/shower, sink and toilet. I remember working there one time as a firefighter and the Engineer was taking a bath! :DDD I haven't taken a bath since I was 5 or 6! ... no, I take that back. My wife and I have taken baths together but that hasn't happened in a few decades! ;-)
Not this cop! I am definitely a nudist and my wife only does it to be with me. I don't think she would search it out for herself. I am in a PD with 580 sworn officers. I know of one sergeant who is known to go to a nudist club near us but I have never talked to him about it. It was actually stated to me that he is a swinger...that was back when he was married to his first wife. Now he is remarried and I don't know his status now. Other than that, I don't know of any in my PD. I have another LEO I worked with on a task force that he and his wife have gone to a nudist club with my wife and I. We have kept that tight lipped amongst our co-workers.
