RE:How many firefighters are nudist do you think?

I think there are more cops that are nudist then you think. They are just scared to say anything.

Agreed. Met many. In fact, I would say the most common occupations I have noticed amongst nudists are law enforcement, fire service, teachers and religious persons. This would be an interesting topic to discuss, the most notable occupations among nudists.

I'd certainly agree with Teachers or those in education, being a huge portion of the nudist population. We visited Club Orient every year for 10 years. The beach would see 200-300 hundred naked souls enjoying their vacation. We were visiting in June each year because ... my wife was also a teacher (college professor). But the vast majority of those on the beach ... mostly teachers, some education administrators, teachers aides, school clerical and yes ... even a catholic priest who was a principal at a catholic school and a secretary in the same office!

In our travels and visits to clubs and resorts, we've met dozens and dozens of teachers who are also nudists. Our very closest nudist friend was a teacher and then administrator for a local school district in their area. Hey ... wouldn't you want to go get naked and destress after dealing with all those kids! LOL

Hahaa...yes I would want to be naked and destress. I am not a big fan of dealing with kids. So Andy, you agree with the education occupation but how about law and fire service occupations? Youve been at this longer than us so I am interested to see what your observations are.

RE:How many firefighters are nudist do you think?

Nearly ALL cops I've encountered are tight lipped. I've met a few at clubs and resorts even those began with "I'm self employed." Later as we got to know them al little, they confessed to lying about what they did and said, "we have to be careful." It's understood but I've always felt that being a nudist was not a bad thing nor is it grounds for termination, only because I never hid my nudist lifestyle from anyone at work and never had an issue with Admin or higher regarding my lifestyle and I was naked at work more than some would think.

As far as other firefighters, I'm finding out from those I'm running into at resorts and clubs that there were a few more on my dept than I thought. They issue I have with that is that, like I stated, I was never secretive about my nudist life and what we did on our spare time, where we vacationed, how we lived and they remained tight lipped as well. Now, as I've run into them, they say things like, "we should have done this together years ago," or "If I had known ...", I tell them .. YOU DID KNOW! :DDD

The problem is in law enforcement is most agencies have a policy called Unbecoming which for them is the catch-all phrase of anything that makes the agency the department the community look bad if they want to get rid of you they can get rid of you

Fireman2006, I agree with you about that "unbecoming" phrase. What you said next is what is most important, if they want to get rid of you......

Yes I am a nudist. I am also a very hard worker and do everything to make my department look good and have done so with multiple agencies. If I do such, there should be no reason for them to make what I do on my own time in nudism as unbecoming. I am not getting drunk and acting a fool at nudist clubs. I am not acting out in sexual "fantasies" to cause alarm to the public conscience. As such I don't think it is unconscionable to mention to a select few of my and my wife's enjoyment to being naked. It is not an advertisement. It is not an announcement. I truly believe that if it is "leaked" out in such a manner and being not an "undesirable" on the department, no ill will upon me will be targeted. I may be naive but believe this to be true at this time. We all know the people who are undesirables in our workplaces and the upper echelons are just looking for any reason to get rid of them. If you are doing what you should be doing and are a good employee, being naked in a legal nudist venue should not be a concern.
