I fully appreciate the difficulties now of running such a social networking site after recieving said email. What I can't accept however is the trashing of the lifestyle by someone that was a strong advocate of it, in spite of the losses he sustained. The actions of some bad hats shouldn't have to result in us being punished as a collective. Hopefully Karl's bitterness will subside at some point.
One of the reasons I believe that Karl is not happy with nudism/naturism is that he is a brand new nudist of less than a couple of years and doesn't understand human nature. It had a good run with few supporting members. I'm just glad this site remains and appreciate what goes into it. I have happy to have my monthly $ deducted from my income.
I thought skinbook was great when it first hit the ning network. There were nudists from all over the world and it was nice having all those people to talk with. Despite some drama and inappropriate groups I think the site was a benifit to the nudist community. My problem with skinbook is with the admin. I was one of the casualties of the random ridiculous bannings that suddenly hit skinbook. I know it was a couple of mods and not the admin that did the bans however it was the admin that never reinstated the banned accounts, never responded to emails about getting reinstated, and never responds to requests for creation of a new account. The admin did not start the problem but it did nothing to repair the damage done. This behaivior has lost skinbook the support of countless nudists including myself. I say the issues that skinbook ran into with ning is karma, good bye to bad rubish. like i said this so sounds like what is happening to this site from what i hear from people in my friends network that the administration doesn't do anything do solve anyones problems they have and those are paying members i am talking about
As koala_bare rightly points out none of this would have transpired if the abrupt policy change at ning hadn't provided the catylst for skinbook's destruction, for that Karl has every right to be angry.
We can only hope on the very likely proposition(given the pace of change in I.T.) that some improved platform of social networking will emerge in the future that will serve to re-unite the former membership.

I must say that I don't recall having any interaction with Karl(SkinbookAdmin), when I saw him in the chatroom he was always on the sidelines just monitoring I suppose.
I always put my heart into what I do, but twenty years ago when things didn't work out I also admit to getting very angry then so maturity makes a difference. I did friend one of the other Admins though but we never talked about Karl.
80% of my friendlist had emails which I copied manually. The few that didn't died a gruesome cyberdeath unfortunately.
Skinbook is history now, R.I.P. but truenudists.com are here to stay, and we all need to support TT1 more on his efforts in pioneering the next generation of true nudists, it is a priority here at the truenudist website that men and women are treated truly equal in that women can pose in the same posture manner and positions as men can, and that TT1 determines what is good nudity graphics for this site and not a bunch of old generation so called nudists who like to tie women's legs together while encouraging men to let it all hang out. Women should have the same graphic rights as men do as good nudists. Keep up the good work TT1 we support you all the way, both women and men equally.
I got Karl's email as well. Sounds like he got a lot of grief from some people,probably starting withthe folks at ning. I made the aquaitance of a few nice poeple there, a shame it's gone. I also hope Karl gets over his frustration and anger with nudists and nudism. It does give one a better appreciation for what TT1 has to deal with keeping TN up and running.
MC makes a good point - people expect something for nothing. That only goes so far.If we want todance, we will have to pay the piper eventually.

It's sad to see skinbook come to an end. Yes, I agree with them, the nudist industry is a very difficult industry to make a living in. It is one of those industries where lots of people enjoy it, but are too cheap to support it. The nudist organizations like AANR, BN, and TNS should have 100's of thousands of members, yet they're struggling. Some people brag that they would NEVER pay to stay at a nudist resort because nudist resort owners just want your money, yet they spend $200 a night to stay at a textile hotel close to a "free" nude beach. And when you operate skinbook as a hobby as those people did, you can easily get burned out because people don't understand it is a hobby not a full time job. I wish those people that started it good luck. And after a while, I hope their bitterness towards nudism softens. MC

I'm sorry to say that my whole involvement with Skinbook came from trying to join several times, and always being rejected (with no real reason given.) Whatever problems Karl had with Ning aside, after the third or fourth time being rejected for membership, I just plain gave up. I guess you either have it in you to properly run a website, or you don't.
