How to stick to the grocery list

So it just isn't possible to stick to the grocery list. Not only did we came home yesterday from grocery shopping with a lot more than the necessary groceries, we also came home with a new pet :-)))

Think I'm going to follow a 'how to stick to your grocery list' course :-DD

How well do you manage to stick to the groceries list?

:-)))

There's a very simple technique: eat first. Never go food shopping when you're hungry otherwise you'll end up buying all sorts of stuff you didn't intend to.

Very easy ... My wife goes alone! I'm the one that walks down the aisles either pushing the cart or walking in front of the cart and going from side to side grabbing items, NOT ON THE LIST, and putting them in the cart. Sometimes, she'll stop and put things back but other times she'll just let it go. When we get home, we have to figure out where to put all the stuff I put in the basket, we didn't need! Suffice it to say ... she usually goes alone! :D

Food itself isn't really the problem, all the interesting things they sell at the stores close to the grocery store are :-DD

I always go to the store with a full stomach. I also meal prep which makes it easier to stick to the list

I find it also helps if you just use a basket rather than pushing a shopping cart. When the basket is full and /or heavy, it's time to stop. Luckily, my local supermarket doesn't sell pets, which also helps.

What list ???? Wife and I both tend to just pick up what looks good, yeah we failed "grownup class".
I went to the gas station to fill up before thr holidays a few years back and came home with a tiny fur ball of a kitten, forgot the gas ...... knitting is now a big fur ball and my buddy :) worked out fine

Sorry to say it, but I never seem to be able to buy just what's on the shopping list! If you figure this one out, please let me know! I can say, however, that I've never come home with a pet while out shopping! Thanks for sharing your excitement!!
