Daily chit chat, no Topic necessary ...
This thread is for Daily posts that do not follow a particular topic. It may promote a topic of discussion and in that case, we should take that particular discussion and make it a separate topic. But for now, this is just a place to post whatever's on your mind!
Here I sit in my chair at the desk in front of the computer, naked ... cup of coffee and a nice warm butter croissant, looking out onto the front yard through the open blinds. It's currently 37, according to our digital outside thermometer! It gets colder here than some people think! :DDD
Thank you all for the kind words about this new friend's passing. I was prepping to take out my uniform and dust it off to attend his service next week. His wife called and me told me that he would have wanted all of us to dress in his usual attire ... a Hawaiian Shirt! I'll be sure to wear my fav in his honor.
This man's death hit our oldest grandson a bit harder than I realized. He confided in his parents that he was concerned about me and my health and that this man was only a few years older than I am.
Thanks for all the kinds words. Life is short, live it to the fullest! ;-)
Politics is always a hot button. Even though we are all brothers under the Thin Red Line, we don't always agree on many things. I've worked with many guys in my 32 years as a firefighter and thought I knew some of the guys quite well but their political opinions have been bordering on some pretty extreme views and it's cost me some friendships that I once cherished. I recently began to wonder; if they felt like this the entire time we were friends, how did they become friends with me? I can see now why so many people have given up on social media. It's not only scary but destructive!
I recently uploaded a photo of some bikini clad ladies washing a fire department vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee. When I was on the paramedic squad and then later as a Captain on a fire engine, when we passed one of these charity car washes or a car wash to assist local HS sports teams, cheerleader squads I'd stop and let them wash our rig but then we'd go back to the station and wash it all over again correctly! :DDDD
