I did the laser thing a few years ago and found that it didn't work on the gray. What was left over was very short and soft gray hair. Since then I've tried waxing and while I really like the results it take time between each visit and halfway through I look unkempt. So I go with VEET now and that works perfectly. Leave the cream on for about 8 minutes and jump into the shower. Gently scrub it off and viola! Smooth for about 8 days. I don't use it on my balls; I shave the boys every few days. But pubes and butt crack stay very smooth for a little over a week.
I used to use shaving cream and shave every couple of days. I now just dry shave every day or two. I find I get fewer red bumps with just using a razor than when I used shaving cream. Sometimes I will rub lotion in afterwards, sometimes not.
Ive previously used the magic shave razorless cream. After reading the above post I tried the powder today. A lot less burn and a lot smoother on genitals and butt crack. Still has a bit of a smell in the house from it though.
I just go an eighth of an inch with my trimmer. Sick of ingrown hairs and itch. Actually, it does itch some, but it looks and generally feels great, not to mention Gold Bond powder! Took me all my life to use it, what was i thinking?? It's the best!
Since my last post, I had to stop wax treatments for a time. I'm happy to say that I've resumed my treatments and returned to the aesthetician I was visiting before I stopped. Soon after I stopped getting waxed, I realized why I started getting wax treatments in the first place. Shaving is fine but it is short lived. Shaving everythird day was a PITA and within the second day, stubble was noticeable and irritating. I got waxed over two weeks ago and most of those parts are still as smooth today as they were right after the treatment. There is small patches of regrowth but the hair is much finer and with each treatment, I go longer and longer between sessions. My next session will be in early November. No secrets ... waxing works best for me!
Who has done laser and has light colored hair? I have read that laser does not work on hair with little pigment. Wife had laser done a few years ago and it worked, but she still shaves periodically even after 5-6 treatments. Hair is much different now for her now though. I shave from nose to toes and have pretty good results. Maintenance is every few days with some minor touch ups in between. Takes 8-10 min to do it all, so shaving is not an issue for me. However, Id love for the areas with courser hair to be softer. Also, difficult to reach places. I have considered waxing, but cant stand the thought of letting all of my body hair grow out 1/4 inch. Appreciate the feedback on laser for clear/blond hair.
I shave in the shower also. Life has gotten much easier since the arrival of the five blade razors. Some like the Hydro5 even have bands of steel on the blades so nothing goes deep causing a nick or cut. Even works well on my scrotum, which is always tough for obvious reasons.
