Naked Yoga - Mainstream?

This is from the UC Berkeley Wellness Letter talking about some trends in yoga.

"Naked Yoga. For millennia, monks in Asia have practiced naked yoga to bring the mind, sprit, and body into a state of balance. In more recent years, naked yoga has been trending in the U.S., the idea being to instill confidence in and acceptance of your body. In many classes, weather coed or unisex, the removal of clothing is done ceremoniously under low light or in the dark with candles. As for hygiene, it's prudent to bring you own yoga mat and towel. Thankfully, studios may require that participants be freshly showered."

It is good to have a little mainstream recognition, even if not in my part of the U.S.

Hopefully it will become more wise spread. In additon to benefits you mentioned I think naked yoga and Tai Chi allow instructionor and students to be more aware of improper posture and alignment issues that might be concealed by clothing, making them easier to correct.

Do you know of any groups in the CA Bay Area for beginners?

I would expect that the bay area would be a good place to find a place that does naked yoga. Hopefully someone in this group will chime in.

I was able to find some classes near me (St. Louis) through the website MeetUp. It is really a pretty good resource for nudists looking for activities.
