Caliente - Tampa, Florida
We visit Caliente pretty frequently. In fact, we are members. We've been going every since they open. If you've never been, you should try it! It's a true resort with a spa, restaurant, sports bar, and night club. The crowd is anywhere from 21-80; however the average age is probably 45-55. It can be costly with day fees being $100 per day for a couple. Joining the vacation club was a long term investment that we made this year and we've been very pleased so far. They also run specials. Sunday's have been $40 per couple and the parties have been great! Feel free to comment or ask questions!!!
You are right! Caliente is pricey! We have found a few methods to help with that! We have rented condos from a private individual at Paradise Lakes for $85 per night, which is only 5 miles away. You don't have to pay for day fees if you do not go into the resort area at Paradise if you do it this way. However, if you do it's about $50 per couple. We recently invested in a camper and now stay at Caliente in the RV section. We love it! I can cook meals or have sandwiches. Plus I enjoy sitting outside under the awning. And like I mentioned before, we joined the vacation club and although it was expensive, it will save us money in the long run.
